Morrisville, October 24th, 2014
Barbara Burmeister and the Forget Me Not Shop were presented with a Creative Workforce Solutions 2014 Employer Award. Forget Me Not successfully partnered with the Morrisville VABIR & VocRehab Vermont office, providing consultation and assistance to participants as part of the 2014 Career Exploration Workshop and “Dress For Success” portion of the curriculum. The award was presented by Morrisville VABIR staff, Christin Wingfield and Michelle Legere.
As part of the Career Exploration Workshop, Forget Me Not facilitated the Dress For Success segment, preparing 12 candidates to successfully interview for employment opportunities with local businesses. Morrisville’s Career Exploration Workshop meets weekly for 12 weeks, providing instruction and support on a variety of job search topics including: interpersonal communication, working together on a team, researching local businesses to find the right job, effectively completing job applications, preparing cover letters and resumes, creating a 30 second commercial and interviewing.
Christin Wingfield explained, “the Dress for Success Workshop is a fun, interesting and integral segment of the workshop. It takes place at a business, is hands on and a lot of fun. We have a lot of laughs but get a lot out of our time with Barbara and her staff at Forget Me Not. We couldn’t do it without them.”
